Dental Check-Ups at Premier Dental Center San Antonio at Nacogdoches
Avoiding the dentist for regular cleanings is a bad idea. It’s easy to put off an appointment, but skipping the dentist could lead to a much bigger problem later.
Instead of skipping out, give our office a try with a $59 cleaning, exam & x-ray! Our family-friendly office has an experienced team, a comfortable, modern office & great patient reviews.
It is recommended that you visit the dentist every 6 months for a cleaning and exam. When you visit our office, the hygienist will take the time to thoroughly clean your teeth, while removing tartar and plaque. Then the dentist will review x-rays and examine your mouth. If you keep up with regular cleanings, you reduce the chances of a dental emergency later.
Treating and Preventing Cavities
If you regularly brush and floss your teeth, you reduce the risk of cavities. Even with regular hygiene, you may still wind up with a cavity.
If you have a cavity, we will typically schedule an appointment to set you up with a dental filling. This tooth-colored material blends with the shade of your natural teeth. The appointment is typically short: we will numb the area where the cavity is, remove the decayed enamel, and then add the filling.
At your regular cleaning appointment, we may also suggest a fluoride treatment to help fight tooth decay.
Screening for Oral Cancer and Gum Disease
During your dental exam, the dentist will look for signs of periodontal disease and oral cancer. They will also evaluate your bite (the way your top and bottom teeth fit together), as well as your jaw function, and look for uneven tooth wear that can be a sign that you grind your teeth.
